Edinburgh, you truly are a city of enchantment, and never was that more evident than on Kristina and Jordan's wedding day. From a dramatic, stormy morning to a brief, miraculous calm, their intimate elopement was a testament to love's ability to create its own magic.

The day began with a wild symphony of nature, a full-blown thunderstorm, complete with lightning and torrential rain. Our planned pre-ceremony walk around Edinburgh's iconic streets seemed utterly impossible. But as we arrived in the city centre, something incredible happened. The rain, as if on cue, simply stopped. It was as if Edinburgh itself held its breath for Kristina and Jordan.

Laughs, kisses and collapsing umbrellas

Our adventure began near St. Giles' Cathedral, where the grandeur of the architecture met the quiet intimacy of their love. It was right at the start of our walk, by the cathedral, that my multi-tasking skills were put to the test. As I adjusted my camera angle, trying to capture the perfect shot, the many umbrellas I was holding started toppling one by one. It was a domino effect of canvas and metal. But this little mishap instantly dissolved any last-minute nerves, sparking genuine, heartfelt laughter from Kristina and Jordan. That spontaneous, unscripted moment of pure joy set the tone for the entire shoot, full of authentic smiles, tender kisses, and abundant love as we explored.

We then explored the beautiful Victoria Terrace, with its stunning city views, before winding our way down the colourful, curving Victoria Street. Every corner we turned, every cobblestone we stepped on, became a backdrop for their story. During our walk, they were constantly congratulated by passing tourists and city visitors. Kristina later told me that if she hadn't been so happy that day, she probably would have been annoyed by all the attention and photos being taken. Their joy was infectious, spreading warmth and smiles wherever we went.

Champagne toasts and serendipitous songs

After our enchanting stroll, we met up with their witnesses, their best friends, for a celebratory glass of champagne. The atmosphere was buzzing with excitement and love. As if the day hadn't been magical enough, there was live music playing, and after a heartfelt toast, Kristina and Jordan spontaneously broke into a rendition of 'Valerie'. It was a truly unforgettable moment of pure, unadulterated happiness.

From there, we headed to the beautiful Edinburgh City Chambers for their ceremony. It was a deeply romantic affair, shared with just seven cherished guests. The way Jordan constantly made Kristina smile, how he showered her in kisses throughout the day and the undeniable magic in the way they looked at each other: it was a privilege to witness and capture.

And as for that Edinburgh magic? Just as we finished the ceremony, the skies opened up again. The rain resumed, as if patiently waiting for their "I do's" to be complete. It was a truly whimsical detail that perfectly underscored the unique, charmed nature of their day.

Capturing unforgettable moments

Kristina and Jordan's wedding was more than just a photoshoot; it was an experience. It's moments like these, raw, genuine and full of emotion, that I live to capture. Hearing their feedback after they saw their gallery absolutely warmed my heart:

"No words! We looked through the gallery yesterday, we smiled, cried and all the rest! I have never seen more beautiful photos! I couldn’t ever imagine in my wildest dreams that we would look so good! The actual gallery is the work of art in itself, I am going to be so proud sharing it! You are so amazingly talented and such a pleasure to work with!"

Being able to deliver not just photos, but a work of art that evokes such powerful emotions, is why I do what I do. Kristina and Jordan, your day was truly magical. I feel incredibly lucky to have been a part of your Edinburgh love story.
