This page explains, in plain English, how this website uses cookies and similar technology, and how you can change your mind at any time.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website saves in your browser. Some are needed for a site to work. Others are optional, for example to understand how many people visit and which pages they read.

The choice you make

When you first visit, a small banner asks whether you accept optional cookies. You can accept or reject them all, or choose Manage preferences to switch each kind on or off. Rejecting is as easy as accepting, and the site works in exactly the same way either way. Your choice is remembered in your own browser, so the banner does not appear on every page. You can change it at any time with the Cookie preferences link at the bottom of every page.

Strictly necessary

• Your cookie choice. Stored in your browser so the site remembers the choice you made. It is never sent to me or to anyone else.

Optional analytics

• Google Analytics. If you accept, Google Analytics may set cookies such as _ga to count visits and show which pages are read. This helps me understand what is useful. It does not tell me who you are. These cookies last up to two years, and they are never set if you reject.

Advertising

I do not use advertising cookies at the moment. The switch is there so that, if this ever changes, nothing is set unless you have chosen to allow it.

Forms and other services

• Enquiry form. When you send the contact form, your message is sent to my own Google account, which emails it to me. It does not set cookies on this website.
• Links to Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn. These sites set their own cookies only if you follow a link to them. Their own cookie policies apply.

Changing or clearing cookies

You can change your choice with the Cookie preferences link at the bottom of any page. You can also clear or block cookies in your browser settings at any time.
